12th March 2012

Regular CTSA travellers would have noticed an ever increasing number of young supporters trawling up and down the country following our REDs. Mitch Moylan (15) of Three Bridges has been an integral part of this group and has attended many away matches. We caught up with him to get the lowdown on his experiences. He revealed, “I have been going to the Broadfield for 10 years now, in the early days my dad and I would sit in the West Stand but these days I really love standing in the Bruce Winfield stand right behind the goal!”

Mitch and friends at Bury earlier this season...

Even though he was only seven years old Mitch remembers going to Welling when CTFC won promotion to the Conference in spring 2004. He said, “I was very young at the time but remember everyone cheering throughout the game.” He added, “Charlie Macdonald was my favourite player during this time. He scored 10 goals in the 2003-4 season.” We liked him too Mitch. Perhaps the gaffer should bring him back?!

His first away match was a long journey to Hereford by train with his dad. Now he’s an almost ever present on the away terraces.

Mitch joined around 200 people in Redz bar on 30th January 2011 for a piece of CTFC history. The place erupted as we draw Manchester United in the 5th round of the cup. He explained,”I couldn’t believe it and we were all jumping around in celebration, there was no way I was going to miss the game!”

As to the current season he explained, “the away games have been brilliant this season, its great fun to travel with the lads and we try to produce a noisy atmosphere. The best experience this season has to be Port Vale away on the opening day. It was our first league match and the atmosphere in the ground was electric. It finished two each.” He added, “travelling with CTSA has been good value which makes it possible to see a lot of games.”

Mitch at......no, we won't tell you, we'll let you guess!

As to the future he explained, “I don’t think we will get the wins needed to secure an automatic promotion but there is every chance of a play off spot and it would be amazing to go to Wembley!”

Mitch really is a staunch Reds fans and at the tender of 15 and has witnessed many important dates in our history.
