They Think it’s all over…….
They think it’s all over…..
Not for our CTSA Football team, they have only just got their new kit! Having raised some money from the squad and with a donation from the CTSA, our boys finally look like a proper team with everyone wearing the same shirts and shorts! They agreed they’d like Chestnut Tree House on the front of their shirts, due to the great relationship we have with our local Children’s Hospice. So now they look the part, they spent Monday 4th May hosting a Supporters’ Team tournament at the Stadium.
Teams who play in the IFA League (a League set up where supporters’ teams play each other before their Saturday fixture) were invited. Coventry, Gillingham, Leyton Orient and MK Dons’ supporters all descended upon the Checkatrade.com Stadium for a Festival of Football. It was a great day and well done to Joe Comper and Dan Palmer for organising it. Proceeds from the entry fees are being put towards our Community Initiative.
All the teams got together for a great group photo, thanks to Michael Hulf.
For the final game of their season, the CTSA team were kindly asked to be the opposition for Michael Hulf’s Charity Game on May 10th at Horley Town FC.
The event is for Prostate Cancer Research, where all proceeds go directly into research. With over 30,000 men suffering from it in the UK alone, 10,000 die each year from it and 80% of men will develop it by the time they’re 80, it’s a cause that will help every man in the UK.
Cancer has affected everyone, in some form or another, through friends and family. Michael’s Dad is living with bladder and prostate cancer and his sister works for the charity. The game is being filmed with 8/9 minute highlights and post interviews will be put on YouTube.
If you’re not doing anything on Sunday the 10th May, get down to Horley Town FC at 3pm and support the lads, as well as a great charity.
