The Crawley Town Supporters Alliance (CTSA) met with Tom Allman, CEO of Crawley Town FC, last week for a constructive and wide-ranging discussion on key issues affecting the club, both on and off the pitch.

A positive note was struck early on with recognition of the club’s efforts to maximise supporter attendance for the past weekend’s trip to Newport, which resulted in one of our largest away attendances in the football league. The initiative was welcomed as an important step in strengthening the connection between the club and its fanbase.

A significant portion of the discussion focused on the potential financial implications of relegation. The club acknowledged the challenges that dropping out of the EFL would bring, particularly in terms of reduced revenue. However, it was made clear that a dynamic plan is already in place for next season regardless of final league position. Importantly, the long-term commitment of ownership was reiterated by Tom, with continued investment in both the playing squad and infrastructure highlighted as evidence of this. The club’s primary focus, however, remains firmly on retaining its league status which everyone is confident can be done.

During the meeting, the CTSA were reassured to hear that player contracts have been designed to help manage costs should the worst occur.

On the managerial side, the club confirmed it would support interim manager Colin in working towards his UEFA Pro Licence should he wish to undertake. It was also clarified that current league regulations require managers to hold a UEFA B Licence and be working towards their UEFA A Licence (Regulation 41 of the EFL Handbook) of which Colin already holds. Ongoing development among the wider coaching staff was also noted if opportunities were wanted to be pursued by the individuals in question.

Discussions also touched on the club’s ownership structure. The question was raised by the CTSA as to why Raphael Khalili was not featured on the board of the club’s Companies House listing. It was clarified that KB Sports and Leisure LTD are registered as Persons with Significant Control, with ownership ultimately linked back to Raph.

Looking ahead, plans for the Fan Advisory Board (FAB) are progressing, with an initial meeting involving meeting Colin Kazim-Richards expected shortly and a formal meeting scheduled before the end of the season. The CTSA welcomes this as an important step in ensuring structured and meaningful supporter engagement.

Finally, the topic of a potential “three up, three down” league structure was discussed. The current view is that they need to vote on what will best protect and support the club going forward.
